On today's episode, we celebrate National Intern Day by hosting the 2026 P.J. Boatwright interns, Anthony Moran, Bella Dixon and Gavin Stark! The USGA sponsored program provides interns to the GCGA on an annual basis, and we talk to the interns about their experience with the Association, the city and the tournaments held. We then interview the USGA P.J. Boatwright Internship Program Administrator, Daniel Magen! Daniel describes what the internship is and how it provides jobs not just inside the USGA and its associated programs, but for other jobs within the industry and more.

We review three of the first GCGA tournaments of the season: The U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Four Bridges CC, the MET Four-Ball at Coldstream CC, and the Northern Kentucky Amateur at Summit Hills CC. Jared describes the weather struggles at each competition and the thrilling playoff finishes needed to complete the Four-Ball and NKY AM! Tom and Phil add some stories of their experience playing in the Four-Ball, sharing a few laughs and the overall positive experience of having the opportunity to play.

From course setup, to spectator parking, signature holes and more, Alex expresses the excitement and aura of the membership headed into the week of the tournament. Today, we are joined by the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer of Cincinnati Country Club, Joe Zinchini and Director of Grounds, Tony Weaver! The duo introduces themselves and a brief background about their experience at CCC, then we dive into the "transformation" of the golf course. Joe discusses the process of hiring Dr. Michael Hurdzan, and the mindset the world-class golf architect utilized in bringing a new look to the course. Tony describes the effort of all contractors and grounds teams throughout the entire multi-year project, and the collaboration and communication necessary from a superintendent's eye. The duo then tells us some of the significant changes that are now present throughout the layout, the change of specific holes, par, and some of their favorite holes.
